FreeSpeech 2000 cont'd:

Text to Speech Performance

Philips licenses the IBM ViaVoice text to speech technology for its FreeSpeech product. Except for the animated agent, which Philips does not use, the performance is thus generally good, sharing most of the pluses and minuses of the IBM design. Click here for the IBM text to speech review details.

Starting and stopping the agent during proofeading of text was not as easy as the Dragon NaturallySpeaking design.
